Mallikbari Health Care Centre

Mallickbari (in Mymensingh district) was a poverty stricken area, in need of education and adequate health service facilities. People of this area, especially women and children, had a lack of medical care. SHED Board has established a clinic at Mallickbari in 1979 with the financial and technical supports of Liebenzell Mission International.  The clinic has been serving the people in the area for around 40 years. An evaluation survey carried out by LMI, shows that people in the area have become more conscious about their health. This is due to an increased health awareness among people and communities. The government has since established a hospital in Bhaluaka, a sub-district of Mymensingh district. A communication road has been built, so that the people in the area are able to access the hospital’s provided health service easily. Currently SHED Board is operating its clinical programme one day each week.
