Introduction

Introduction:

The Social Health & Education Development (SHED) Board is a national Non-Government and Non profitable social development organization. It is a service arm of Bangladesh Baptist Church Sangha (BBCS) which is a well-respected and long-established organization in Bangladesh. The leaders of BBCS sought to engage fully in the development of Bangladesh under an appropriate name and entity as per the law of the country.

Hence, Social Institutions Board (SIB) came into being in 1976  and later the name was changed to the Social Health & Education Development (SHED) Board with registration under the Foreign Donations (Voluntary Activities) Regulations Ordinance and Rules 1978. The registration number was DSW/FDO/R- 134- Memo No. DSW/ER/FD/147/753 dated 23-11-1982, and subsequently renewed by the Director General, Bureau for NGO Affairs in 1982.
